June 2010 FAPS, Inc. is announcing that we have resolved the dispute with the United States Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the Company by way of an April 25, 2016 consent decree. The Company is and will continue to be dedicated to providing equal employment opportunity for all qualified applicants that are approved by the Waterfront Commission of New York Harbor. We will continue to sponsor minority recruitment community outreach programs as we have done over the last twenty years.
The terms of the Decree through the collaboration with EEOC preserves the rights of all potential applicants to seek employment with the Company by encouraging our potential work force to abide by all applicable federal and state recruitment standards. The Company will continue to make diligent and good faith efforts to recruit, sponsor and hire qualified African Americans by, among other things, continuing our fruitful relationship with trade schools that have furnished well qualified workers. We will also partner with the current City of Newark Administration to advance these goals.
We have also strengthened our training programs in order to ensure that fair hiring practices remain in place.
During the course of this lengthy law suit, we have engaged in a collaborative effort with the EEOC in order to ensure that the Company continues to flourish with a qualified work force that will serve the best interests of the Company now and in the future. We would hope that the Waterfront Commission will remove barriers to employing qualified African Americans who have had prior problems with the Criminal Justice System, in order to achieve a diverse workforce.
